An Augmented Reality experience that transforms the water plant into an immesive model where visitors walk through all the cleaning processes. A project for the Water Museum in Barcelona.
We used Google Satellite views to extract and replicate an exact model of the water plant. Everything is at scale and all the buildings are faithful representations of what you see in the plant. We started with a block structure based on plans from the plant and then worked on the aerial views of the buildings.
The last step was painting, texturing and adding all the elements of the plant, including moving objects, as people and cars. We also created the shaders of water at different stages, the river, clouds and water pools.
We also created 3D objects that represent each and everyone of the cleaning process. By clicking on the markers, the user sees the process in a 3D animation.
Over the model, each building has a marker that gets activated by clicking. The user can then see how we gather water, how we remove the sand, apply different filters and chemical processes, all in animated 3D models that explain the physics of each process.
We also adapted the experience to a mobile UI. The app can be used in vertical and is opitmized for all devices handling AR.
